The story of Emiliana and Pierogi is a romance that grew from sorrow. Pierogi was happily married until a tragic health issue took his beloved wife’s life. As all the people and birds of GLPR supported Pierogi in his grief, Emiliana came forward to comfort him and gradually their companionship grew into a wise and mature love. Pierogi and Emiliana are survivors of pigeon racing, and have both known hardships and the fear of being lost and abandoned before they were rescued. They now love and comfort each other with great devotion, and they also love being part of a human family as well. @artbyrisamarie donated this beautiful artwork to honor their love story.
